The Land Development Informant (LDI) Newspaper is a dedicated digital newspaper established to keep communities, municipalities, planning consultants, developers, stakeholders, and ordinary citizens informed about land development and land use application notices across South Africa.
LDI promotes a more inclusive, efficient, organised, and transparent public participation process by making land development notices easier to access, identify, and follow. Through its digital platform, notices are made available beyond the limitations of traditional printed newspapers, allowing interested and affected parties to stay informed regardless of where they live, work, or travel.
Public participation remains a vital stage in every land development and land use application process. It provides an opportunity for interested and affected parties to submit comments, raise concerns, and contribute meaningfully to decisions that may influence their communities and surrounding environments. This process plays an important role in promoting accountable, responsive, and sustainable development.
The primary objective of the Land Development Informant is therefore to strengthen public participation by providing a focused digital platform that improves access to information on proposed land developments throughout the Republic of South Africa. By doing so, LDI supports transparency, public awareness, and informed decision-making in land development matters.
