Our Story

The Land Development Informant (LDI) Newspaper was established by Mr Nkateko Sammy Marcus Muchavi, a qualified and registered Professional Town Planner with SACPLAN and more than 10 years of experience in the town planning and land development sector. Through his professional work on land development and land use applications across South Africa, Mr Muchavi identified challenges in the public participation process, particularly the limited accessibility, short circulation period, and broad general content of traditional printed local newspapers, which often made it difficult for interested and affected parties to identify and follow relevant notices. In response, he founded the LDI as a focused, accessible, and modern digital newspaper dedicated exclusively to land development and land use application notices. The platform was designed to complement traditional newspapers by making notices available online, downloadable, archived, and organised according to provinces, district municipalities, and local municipalities. The official relaunch of the Limpopo Edition on 06 March 2026 marked a major milestone in strengthening the LDI’s role as a digital public participation platform, with a broader vision to expand across all nine provinces of South Africa while promoting transparency, inclusivity, access to information, and informed decision-making in land development matters.

OUR VISION

To become South Africa’s leading digital platform for land development and land use notices by improving public access to information, strengthening community participation, supporting accountable decision-making, and promoting sustainable development through a transparent, organised, and user-friendly digital newspaper.
